Supporting children's rights through education, the arts, and media (SCREAM): Education Pack

The SCREAM programme offers a unique opportunity to engage a wide range of communiy actors and organizations in the promotion of social justice and universally recognized human and labour rights.

2 December 2002

The SCREAM Education pack includes 14 activity modules, an User Guide and an supporting Documents module. The activity modules are flexible “building blocks” and activities can be adapted according to the time and resources available, they may be part of a year-long education programme or one-off workshops. The activity modules are generic and can be adapted to any geographical or cultural context and to any formal or non-formal setting. In a number of countries, SCREAM has been linked to or incorporated into national curricula, often with the active involvement of teachers’ trade unions and public education authorities.

In recent years, a fifteenth activity module on music had been designed. The intention is that this will be used in conjunction with the modules on Basic Information, Image, Role-play and Drama.

Additionally, three special modules have been developed on other areas: HIV/AIDS,  armed conflict  and agriculture.
