R205: What is it about and why should trade unions provide answers to the 2026 General Survey questionnaire?
By 30 June 2025, trade unions have the possibility to submit comments on the application of Recommendation No. 205 on Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience (R205), adopted in 2017. This questionnaire will help the ILO’s Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR) to draft its General Survey on R205.
This is a unique opportunity for R205 to be the object of the supervision of the CEACR, and for trade unions to raise challenges as well as good practices in the application of this recommendation, allowing the CEACR to take into account trade unions’ experience. The General Survey will be discussed in the Committee on the Application of Standards in 2026 but it will also be a reference point to guide ILO action.
ACTRAV would like to invite trade unionists to a webinar to (1) explore what R205 is about and how they can use it, and, (2) to examine the questionnaire in order to provide answers with all the information at hand.
