Paraguay
Paraguay has been a member of the ILO since 1919, with the exception between 1937 and 1956. The country has ratified 41 Conventions (of which 39 are currently in force), including the fundamental Conventions.
Paraguay and the ILO have reached several milestones in recent years, including the creation of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security in 2014; the ratification of the Social Security Convention, 1952 (No. 102) and the Part-Time Work Convention, 1994 (No. 175) in 2021, and the adoption of a National Employment Plan in 2022. As part of its activities in the country since its inception, the ILO has provided technical support for these milestones.
ILO actions in Paraguay are coordinated from the Office for the South Cone of Latin America. There is also an ILO project office in the country working in various areas of the Organization's activities.
