Chairperson,
Director-General,
Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is an honour for me to speak on behalf of the Republic of San Marino at the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference, the world’s largest event dedicated to work and labour issues.

We are facing a global context marked by conflicts, geopolitical tensions, and economic uncertainty. Rapid social and technological changes are also reshaping our societies. In this challenging environment, San Marino reaffirms its commitment to promoting decent, inclusive, and safe work for all.

We fully support the Director-General’s call to find shared and effective solutions to build a more resilient future.

In recent years, San Marino has introduced policies to better protect workers and fight all forms of violence, harassment, and discrimination in the workplace. A permanent working group, established under our National Multi-Year Plan, brings together institutions, social partners, and civil society to promote safe, respectful, and inclusive work environments. Our efforts are aligned with ILO Convention 190 and other key international standards.

San Marino has also adopted a Multi-Year Economic Programme that supports quality employment, youth and female entrepreneurship, and the development of digital skills. We are committed to improving access to work for people with disabilities and closing the gender gap. These actions are backed by targeted incentives and training programmes.

Our welfare system guarantees universal social protection, free access to education and healthcare, and support for vulnerable families and workers.

Chairperson,
Director-General,

I am proud to say that San Marino has joined the Global Coalition for Social Justice. Through this platform, we aim to promote fair and sustainable labour policies, share best practices, and strengthen international cooperation. We are committed to working together with all Coalition members to reduce inequality and put people at the centre of development.

We also look forward to the Second World Summit for Social Development. We believe it will be a valuable opportunity to renew the commitments made in Copenhagen in 1995 and to strengthen global action in line with the UN 2030 Agenda.

Finally, San Marino expresses its full support for the International Labour Organization. The ILO plays a key role in promoting a development model based on social justice, workers’ rights, and sustainability. We believe that multilateral cooperation — built on solidarity among all nations, large and small — is essential to meet today’s global labour challenges and to build fairer, more inclusive societies.

Thank you.
