Access project dashboardThis project aims to support workers, employers, and their organizations in developing effective mechanisms and practices of collective bargaining and social dialogue at the enterprise and sectoral levels.
Background
The project's objective is to enhance communication, cooperation, and collaboration between employers and employees in order to foster a culture of trust, respect, and mutual benefit in the Mongolian workplace. By addressing the challenges facing the Mongolian workplace through a holistic approach that combines social dialogue, collective bargaining, and workplace innovation, this project seeks to drive positive change, improve working conditions, and enhance the well-being of workers in Mongolia.
Expected results
The project aims to support social partners in the workplace to improve productivity and working conditions through social dialogue at the sectoral and workplace levels. The project will be implemented in the selected enterprises in the garment sector and the hospitality sector. Both sectors have future potential for expansion and for more and better jobs, if they can make continuous improvements to their workplace management.
Considering the specific situation of each sector, approaches suitable for each sector will be developed and implemented. Once good practices can be developed through the pilot interventions, the good practices will be summed up as a guide for workplace social dialogue for better productivity and working conditions, which will be promoted across different industries.
The project aims to achieve three outcomes in order to have a final impact.
Outcome 1: Capacity of social dialogue, including collective bargaining, for high productivity and better working conditions strengthened at enterprise and sectoral level
Outcome 2: Social dialogue for higher productivity and better working conditions is established and practiced at the workplace in selected sectors and enterprises
Outcome 3: Best practices shared and advocated for broader adoption and application
