The ILO has been actively involved in supporting labour rights and promoting decent work in Grenada since the country became a member on 9 July 1979. Through its technical assistance programmes, the ILO has provided guidance and support to the Government in formulating and implementing policies that protect workers and promote social dialogue.

In addition to the ILO and the Government of Grenada working on an action plan to provide social protection to the informal sector, the ILO has been instrumental in supporting the development of SMEs in Grenada, providing training, technical assistance, and access to resources, which play a key role in helping local entrepreneurs establish and grow their businesses. This support not only creates job opportunities and boosts economic growth, but also promotes sustainable and inclusive development. Through its ongoing efforts and collaboration with the Government and social partners, the ILO is contributing towards the building of a more resilient Grenada.
