Global Dialogue Forum on Wages and Working Hours in the Textiles, Clothing, Leather and Footwear Industries

The Global Dialogue Forum on Wages and Working Hours in the Textiles, Clothing, Leather and Footwear Industries was held at the International Labour Office in Geneva from 23 to 25 September 2014.

Its purpose was for tripartite participants to discuss ways to address wages and working hours in the textiles, clothing, leather and footwear (TCLF) industries, taking into account the national contexts and the related international labour standards, with a view to adopting points of consensus that would inform future policy development.

The Forum was attended by 122 participants (from which 65 per cent were women): 59 Government representatives and advisers from 36 member States, as well as 38 Worker and 16 Employer participants, and nine observers from intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The Forum adopted points of consensus.
