Employment implications of the earthquake in Myanmar

On 28 March 2025, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit central Myanmar with its epicentre near Mandalay, the nation's second-largest city, leading to a substantial loss of life. This Brief provides a preliminary rapid assessment of the employment implications of the earthquake as well as recommendations to support income generation, livelihoods and decent work.
