The road rehabilitation project improved critical roads in two towns in rural Aleppo, namely Maskaneh and Khafsa, enhancing connectivity and creating jobs. The project rehabilitated four key roads through levelling, base preparation, and cleaning.
The project ensured safety through PSEA, UXO, and OSH training, employment contracts, injury insurance, and PPE distribution.
Under the same project, the ILO-led Work-Based Learning (WBL) program trained youth from these two towns, in the fields of tailoring and blacksmithing, prioritizing women and persons with disabilities, in order to facilitate their transition to formal or self-employment.
By upgrading infrastructure and fostering skills development, this project improved mobility, strengthened livelihoods, and contributed to economic resilience in rural Aleppo.
