The Democratic Republic of the Congo has been a member of the ILO since 1960. Today, the ILO helps the country implement its Decent Work Agenda through various types of interventions (technical advice, project formulation and implementation, information and advocacy), in partnership with its tripartite constituents at the national level. Six development cooperation projects are currently being implemented in the areas of employability and skills development, youth employment, social protection, labour administration and the fight against the worst forms of child labour. The country has been a pioneer of the 8.7 Alliance since November 2022 and has applied to join the United Nation’s Global Accelerator on Jobs and Social Protections for Just Transition. The country signed a Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP 2021-2024) with the ILO in November 2021.
