The report on the assessment of vulnerable youth economic integration opportunities in Myanmar focuses on understanding the challenges faced by young people in securing decent employment and economic stability. The study highlights the structural barriers limiting access to quality education, vocational training, and employment opportunities. It emphasizes that youth economic empowerment is critical for personal development, business growth, and national economic progress. Limited education and vocational training, particularly in rural areas, are identified as key obstacles that prevent young individuals from entering the workforce with adequate skills.

Key findings from the report indicate that many young people struggle to access quality education and vocational training, making it difficult for them to secure stable employment. The study also highlights that businesses require well-trained workers, but existing training programs often lack alignment with market needs. The absence of structured apprenticeships and the exclusion of youth below 18 years from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs further exacerbate the issue. Additionally, stakeholders agree that protecting young workers from hazardous conditions and promoting safe migration for employment are crucial to ensuring sustainable youth economic integration.

The report recommends several interventions to address these challenges. These include improving the quality of education, integrating soft skills training into curricula, and ensuring that youth below 18 years have access to TVET programs. Establishing a functional Child Labour Monitoring System, enhancing coordination among stakeholders, and implementing policies that align with national economic needs are also emphasized. The study suggests that government, businesses, and civil society organizations collaborate to create a more inclusive and structured approach to youth economic empowerment, ensuring that young people are adequately prepared for the workforce.
